Torrance Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy that helps our customers who are managing numerous skin diseases, including skin cancer, psoriatic arthritis, and psoriasis. Skin cancer occurs when cells begin to grow abnormally on the surface, and below the surface, of the skin. The majority of skin cancers are caused by too much sun exposure and ultraviolet radiation from tanning beds. A dermatologist is needed to diagnose and treat skin cancer successfully, and will generally prescribe medications or surgery for treatment.

Psoriasis is caused by an autoimmune disease. The condition occurs when new skin cells pile up on the surface of your skin to replace old skin cells and can’t shed quickly enough to make room for them.  Normal skin cells regenerate at least once a month; those with psoriasis will form new skin cells every 3 to 4 days. The level of severity can span from less than 2% to over 10% of the body’s surface, which will determine the proper line of treatment. Signs and symptoms are conducive to the type of skin condition you have and the following are signs you may need to seek help from a dermatologist:
